"Some Pig" and Charlotte

Since Anna liked the book and movie so much and was always pretending Wilbur, I thought it would be cute to go with a Charlotte's web theme for Halloween this year.  It might be my last year to have a say. :)
I put my hair in pigtails and told Anna I was Fern.  She loved it and my lack of effort towards a costume didn't matter to her at all.

We started off the evening with our superhero cousins to get $2 burritos at Chipotle and then headed to a fall festival.

Daddy got home in time to go trick-or-treating and that is when the fun really began.
Our first stop was our neighbors who we know pretty well, so it wasn't a big deal when Haven darted into their house.  At least we knew what to expect for the rest of the night.  Haven had no fear and would run up to a house and grab for the candy bowl as soon as the door opened.
The girls were able to get a little more wear out of their costumes at Anna's school's Storybook Parade (also known as kids walk down the halls in costumes and get candy along the way).

Wilbur has now been showing up at breakfast...

and likes to color.

His Voice

The other morning after breakfast, I found Anna laying quietly on the couch in the living room.  She had been up for an hour and wasn't tired so I was surprised to find her there.  I asked her what she was doing and she replied "I'm just thinking about God".  I said "Oh, what about God" to which she replied "well, I'm thinking about His love".

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

When I told Brad this story, he told me that just the day before, he found her sitting quietly as well.  When he asked what she was doing, she told him she was trying to hear God's voice.
The Sunday after she told us these things, she came home from church with this.  I was so excited to see what the paper said because I know that concept had been on her little mind.  I asked her what the Big God Story was that day and she told me her version of 1 Samuel 3, when Samuel heard the voice of God.  I love how the Lord responds to us when we go to him, even to three years old who come to Him with innocence and childlike faith.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me
John 10:27
