H-A-LL-O-W-EE-N

This was such a fun Halloween because Anna is starting to get what the night is all about. She LOVED dressing up as a butterfly and seeing her sister as a little caterpillar. I've also decided that I really like Halloween because it lets kids dress up and use their imaginations and gives you a chance to hang out with neighbors. We got to meet the new guy who just moved onto our street and the new baby who was just born. My only complaint is that the decorations seem to get scarier every year.

We hadn't done any Halloween crafts, so I decided we had better do something before October was over! She had fun painting her and Haven's pumpkins.
Then she ate a jack-o-lantern sandwich for lunch. (thanks for the idea, Holly!)
And while Anna was busy doing that, I played with this little pumpkin. This outfit brought back memories.
After naps, we met up with a lion (cousin Marcus) and Wolverine (cousin Lucas) at a church festival. It was so funny because Lucas would only answer to Wolverine and corrected us if we called him by his name.My cute little baby bugs.
We met daddy back at home and the trick-or-treating fun began.Anna would run up to the door, knock, and then yell out "trick-or-treating!" before the door opened. After every house, she would pull a piece of candy out of her bag and ask "mommy, can you open this?". She was giddy with excitement all night. So cute!
We got back home in time to hand out some candy, too. She kept reminding me that she was sharing her candy.
My favorite part of the evening was when a teenage boy who did not have a costume on came to the door late in the evening. After Anna put some candy in his bag, he paused, reached into his bag and gave her a piece of candy. Such a sweet gesture that was so unexpected.
